Mediterranean Cruise Day Two : Skiathos

On the second day of our cruise adventure, we arrived in Skiathos.

It was the first island I could actually see in daylight (we explored Mykonos the day before but arrived late only to catch the end of the sunset).

Surprisingly green, buzzing with boats and tourists. From the boat, we could spot a nice bar at the top of the cliff and that’s the first place where we headed.

We settled in and enjoyed the view, watching locals and tourists pass by.

We started the day with the local brew quickly followed by another round.

While the Little Man made friend with the locals…

After a refreshing break, we ventured to explore the small narrow streets and marvel on the cute houses, bright colored windows and lovely grandmas sitting on their benches and watching the world go by. One of them actually stopped me and gave my little boy a cookie, she was so sweet!

Our boat was parked few kilometers off the coast, giving us one afternoon to explore this tiny island. There is plenty to see, but if you’re on a schedule and don’t want to miss the boat, we didn’t want to venture too far out.

The central part of the town was pretty busy, tourists in sight everywhere you go… there are souvenir shops and small restaurants all around the main street, but the noise and lack of privacy isn’t something we like as a company for our dinner. After walking for a good hour, we settled on a small place covered with vines.

Very quiet and pretty place, food wasn’t bad either and a as a bonus, our little man finally fell asleep so we could enjoy a glass of wine in peace. Talking about rewards at the end of the day, right?

After dinner, we had another small walk, this time around the small museum on a tiny island of sorts, walking on a tree-shaded path surrounded with people sitting on benches watching sea and boats. We haven’t visited the museum but discovered a beautiful restaurant which was just on the opposite side, facing the sea and offering beautiful views. The place was packed, so we moved back to the harbor for a last drink before catching our boat.
