Airport for Granada, Spain

Granada in Spain has a small airport that is situated 16 kilometres west of the city – it’s called Federico García Lorca Granada Airport.

This airport, however, is mostly used for local national air traffic and you won’t see many international flights landing there.

If you’re travelling to Granada from abroad, you will have to fly to Malaga airport and commute from there. The travel options from Malaga to Granada are as follows:

  • Malaga to Granada by train: 1 hr 45 mins train journey with one change at Antequera station.
  • Malaga to Granada by bus: a direct bus connection, with journey lasting 1 hour on average
  • Malaga to Granada by car: 1.5 to 2 hour journey via via A-92.
  • Malaga to Granada by taxi: approximately 140 euros for the journey lasting between 1.5 hours to 2 hours.
