Guide to Benalmadena Local Buses
Benalmadena is part of the Malaga Metropolitan Transport Consortium (Consorcio de Transporte Metropolitano del Area de Málaga), which offers the convenience of using a single Travel Card for local buses, inter-city buses linking Benalmadena to neighboring towns and cities, and urban buses within Malaga City.
If you’re staying in Benalmadena for longer period and plan to use the buses frequently, I recommend that you get the card as it will make the buses slightly cheaper (up to 40% off) and easier to use. You can get your card at local tobacco shops (one conveniently located near Bil-Bil Castle) or at designated local transport company outlets.
Benalmadena Marina to Benalmadena Old Town
The M-112 bus is the best connection to Benalmadena old town from the Marina, it goes from Malaga and runs through the whole coastline of Benalmadena, before heading up north to Benalmadena Pueblo. The bus then continues to the village of Mijas Pueblo.

There is only one bus available that connects Malaga with Benalmadena old town and that’s the M-112 line, you can check the timetable here.
It leaves from Malaga main bus station, which is right next to Malaga Maria Zambrano station.
As I mentioned there are only a few departures per day, so it may be faster to get on the C-1 train towards Fuengirola, get off at Arroyo de la Miel and get a taxi or bus from there.
Malaga Airport to Benalmadena Old Town
The same bus I mentioned also passes through Malaga Airport, but you will have to walk all the way out from the airport towards the main big road N-348, to a bus stop called Cruce Aeropuerto.
If you need connections from the airport, I think it’s much faster to get on the C-1 train line which stops at the airport, and take the train towards Fuengirola. You can get off at Arroyo de la Miel and then take a bus or taxi to Benalmadena Pueblo.
The C-1 buses run almost every 20 minutes, late until midnight, giving you much more flexibility and options for faster travel.
