Top Tips Walking Tours in Marbella

Here are some practical things to consider when you book your Marbella walking tour!

Walking in Marbella, Spain

First things first: Marbella is a very walkable city!

Especially if your tour is focused on the area of the old town, you have nothing to worry about. The old town’s streets are decent, but you should still wear comfortable shoes and no heels. Some tours also specify that they don’t allow people to wear flip-flops during the walk.

In the summer, the narrow streets of the old town get pretty busy and crammed with people, so it’s better to book the morning tours when this part of the town is still fairly quiet.

If you want to venture beyond the old town, you can still cover much of the coastal area as part of a pleasant walk.

To get to Puerto Banus, I would recommend renting a bike or joining a bike tour instead, as the distance is quite considerable. To explore Puerto Banus on foot, you can get a local taxi from the main road, or call an Uber.

Weather Conditions in Marbella, Spain

Marbella is blessed with over 300 sunny days per year, so worrying about weather conditions will be the last thing on your mind!

If you’re traveling in the summer, you need to use plenty of sun protection and take a bottle of water with you. It gets VERY hot! Check the start time of the walking tour; the morning walks are usually more pleasant in the summer than the ones in the afternoon.

If you’re visiting off-season, in the rainy winter months, check tours that have a flexible cancellation policy so you can quickly change the plan if the weather goes bad. Almost all the tours I featured have free cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity.

Cancellation Policy for Walking Tours

As I mentioned, nearly every tour featured here has a free cancellation policy, giving you lots of flexibility in case you change your plans.

This is super beneficial if you’re traveling with kids, if the weather is a little unpredictable, or if you’re not sure if you’ll be up for the walk!

Walking Tour Exclusions

Each tour has specific conditions when it comes to exclusions.

Usually, it involves wheelchair users and kids under a certain age. Please check this carefully if you’re traveling with kids. Private tours are usually more flexible (since you’re paying more!).
