Nothing is more exciting than finding a really good restaurant – at least for me!
Admittedly, I’m not a Malaga local so navigating the culinary scene is a little challenging, especially if you don’t leave the central area. Luckily, I got a tip for this place from a hotel where I stayed for the weekend with my husband.
This may be my new favourite in Malaga – Pez Lola, a tavern in the old town specializing in seafood.
The restaurant is part of the Groupo Casa Lola, which owns the Casa Lola restaurants in Malaga – they are possibly the most popular tapas places in town. When we walked past Casa Lola during this weekend, there was a line of about 10 people waiting for free tables.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a nautical theme, so it’s also a feast for the eyes, not just for the taste buds. As we went in for an early dinner, there was plenty of seating too.
The menu is pretty extensive and full of exciting flavours to experience. I don’t eat meat so always struggle with limited options in restaurants, so finding a tapas place like this one is a big win in my books.
We went wild with a selection of 6 different tapas, and had four glasses of wine and some water to share – all around 60 euros for 2 people sharing. Pretty amazing value for money.
The service was really fast and friendly, and the food was absolutely fabulous! If I hadn’t been already full, I was craving another ten options from the menu, which I can’t wait to try next time.
