Best Time to Visit

I always recommend visiting these popular monuments early in the morning, as they are more peaceful. Especially a place like this one, you want to enjoy it when it’s not busy and relatively peaceful.

If you can, get the first tickets available for the day and be the first one by the entrance. That way, you can have the whole monument to yourself and take lots of photos without other visitors being captured.

Location of Cordoba Alcazar

The Alcazar is located at Plaza Campo Santo de los Mártires s/n , not far from the Mosque of Cordoba.

There are a lot of guides that will advise you that it’s not necessary to buy tickets online, and you’re fine to get them on the day from the ticket office.

  1. You mention several ways to get a tickets, and i only see one listed. also that option doesn’t have early morning… if people were to get in line 1 hour prior to opening would it be that long of a wait since it seems tours don’t start tile 10 AM? I also don’t see any option to buy tickets ahead that don’t come with a tour

    • Hi Nichole, thanks for your comment. You can also get tickets without a tour guide on the spot, these were not available online from the local tour operators. That’s what I did when I visited, but this was shortly after Covid so not many people waiting there. This particular tour starts at 10am, which is one of the earliest possible options for a guided tour. I suspect at that time it wont be very busy as most tourists and big group tours start after noon. If you want more flexibility, you can try to get there early when it opens 8.30 am and get tickets on the spot. This tour has 24 hour cancellation policy, so you can always try to get in with a regular ticket a day or two before, and simply cancel this one for free =) Lucia
