Exploring the riverside of Genil in Granada was long overdue, and on my last trip in the summer, I made sure to check what it had to offer.
In addition to beautiful parks, stunning fountains, and even a Roman bridge, I found this little place by complete chance when trying to locate the nearest place to hide in a shade from the 40C heat.
Kiosko Las Titas has a wonderful location right next to the Genil River, in front of the Fuente de los Leones, on the meeting point with Paseo del Salon and Paseo de la Bomba.
The restaurant is a unique style Art Nouveau-style building with beautiful interior space and a very spacious outdoor terrace. Back in the day, it used to offer roast potatoes to visitors, known in Granada as ‘partridges’.
Portada de los Leones leads to the Kiosko las Titas and was built in the 40s of the last century.
Tapas & Drinks at Kiosko Las Titas
I visited in the middle of the day when the place wasn’t very busy and they were just unloading some supplies inside – that’s why I didn’t take many pictures of the beautiful interiors as they were boxes everywhere.
We sat down at the edge of the terrace next to the park and had to wait for some time for service, even though it wasn’t busy.
The menu offers a variety of different dishes, but we went for a selection of a few tapas with cold drink. In addition to our drinks, we also got a very generous portion of free tapas, a custom I’m quite fond of.
The food was delicious and the portions were pretty good too!
I don’t think you will have any exciting culinary experience here, but the place is perfect to grab a few drinks and tapas with friends, in beautiful surroundings.
