The grounds are stunning & it’s nice walking to the different restaurants around the complex in the evenings and seeing the golf greens. Breakfasts were perfect. What to Consider Before Booking La Cala de Mijas Hotels

Despite the many activities and fun things to do in La Cala de Mijas, there really aren’t a lot of hotels.

Most of the accommodation options are in the form of apartments and other establishments.

Thus, you’d have to book your stay in one of the hotels in advance.

The available rooms sell out fast, especially during high season months. Fortunately, the low season, which is Winter, is still a pleasant time of the year to visit Fuengirola. You could also consider the Autumn and Spring months, as these seasons also bring along lower prices and fewer travelers.

It’s also important to specify all of your additional needs when making your booking.

For example, if you’ll be needing a cot in your room or the boarding room for a meeting, you need to let the hotel know so they don’t promise it to someone else during your stay.

Plus, keep an eye on third-party booking sites for special deals and lower rates before you book the hotel.

You may come across a nice deal every now and then and save some money for excursions.

Getting From Malaga Airport to La Cala de Mijas

If you’re arriving at La Cala Mijas from Malaga Airport, here are the transport options available to get to your hotel:

Malaga Airport to La Cala de Mijas by taxi – this is the easiest and often most cost-effective option if you don’t want to rent a car. There is a taxi rank right outside of the arrivals terminal with plenty of taxis available at all hours.

Malaga Airport to La Cala Mijas by train – the train only runs to Fuengirola’s main train station, so you will have to take a taxi from there. For a detailed transport guide with train check here.

Malaga Airport to La Cala Mijas by bus – as far as I know and can see online, there is no direct bus to La Cala Mijas. You will have to take the bus from the airport to Fuengirola (although train is much faster) and take a connecting bus or taxi from there.
