My Tips For Taxi From Malaga Airport to Fuengirola
To take a taxi from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola, you have two options: take one from the taxi rank at the airport, or book a taxi online, which will wait for you at the arrivals terminal.
The first option will work for most people, especially if you arrive during regular business hours and don’t travel with a bigger group. Plenty of taxis are available, and the only time you will have to wait for a free taxi is in the summer months when way more visitors are arriving simultaneously.
The rebooked taxi or airport transfer option has many benefits, which I listed below.

PREBOOKED TAXI SERVICE / AIRPORT TRANSFER
If you book your taxi in advance, you have a guarantee that there will be one waiting for you as you arrive, and you don’t have to rush to the taxi rank to secure the right size of car for your travel group.
Booking taxis in advance will usually also secure you a better price and allow you to get a taxi at off-peak hours when they are hard to find on the taxi ranks.
As I mentioned, I recommend booking a dedicated taxi service for the airport, which has several advantages:
- get your price secured in advance
- free cancellation included (up to 48 hours before)
- detailed transport company reviews
- no need to wait in a taxi rank for an available car
- very affordable prices, especially if you’re travelling as a group
- modern, comfortable cars
- professional drivers
- up to 30 minutes waiting time included
- book in advance as soon as you know your flight time
- meet and greet service is included in the price

HOW MUCH IS TAXI FROM MALAGA AIRPORT TO FUENGIROLA
Taxi transfer from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola will cost you around 20 euros one way, depending on the season and the number of people travelling.
The price for your airport taxi transfer depends on seasonality (higher prices in the summer), the number of people travelling, pick-up time and the date. Usually, if you book in advance, you get a better chance of securing a cheaper price for your transport.

TAXI FROM THE ARRIVALS TERMINAL
I have lots of experience taking a taxi from the arrivals terminal.
The taxi rank is on the right side as you exit the terminal building – you need to walk to the back, where you will see taxi cars lined up.
Ensure the driver puts on the taxi meter as soon as you leave the airport so they don’t make up random prices by the time you get off. It’s illegal to drive without the taxi meter on.
A language barrier could be an issue you will face if you get a taxi from the airport – most of the drivers I had experience with have very little knowledge of English. While that’s mostly not an issue, especially if you’re staying in a hotel or near some landmark, most will struggle if you try to navigate them to your destination yourself.
It’s a good idea to get your destination set up on google maps so you can at least show the driver, in case they can’t locate the destination themselves.
