What to Wear in Marbella in April

Weather in Marbella in April

April in Marbella brings mild and pleasant weather.

Temperatures typically range from 11°C to 20°C (52°F to 68°F), with the potential for both sunny days and occasional rain. This means layers are your best friend during this month!

Even with the temperatures hitting over 20°C on some days, the mornings and late afternoons are still pretty cold, so by all means don’t leave your warmer layers at home.

Below is a detailed guide on what to pack for evenings and day, along with some other essentials.

Daytime Outfits for April

Lightweight Layers

A combination of t-shirts, long-sleeved tops, and light sweaters or cardigans will serve you well. The wind can make you feel a lot colder, so if you’re spending some time by the coastline or planning to book a boat trip, a wind-proof jacket is a must.

Bottoms

Bring along a mix of jeans, shorts, and casual skirts. The weather can fluctuate, so having options is key. A warmer knitted dress will be also more than fine for the weather in April.

Footwear

Think walking shoes for exploring and sandals for warmer days. Make sure they are comfortable if you’re planning to do a lot of exploring.

Rainy Day Gear

A light waterproof jacket or an umbrella is a good idea, just in case.

Sun Protection

Sunglasses and a hat for sun protection during those brighter days.

Evening Outfits for April

Smart Casual

Evenings can be cooler, so a stylish jacket or a pashmina will be useful. Marbella’s night scene is a bit more glam than other places on Costa del Sol, so taking your fancier dress or a nice shirt for your man will certainly not be a waste of space in your luggage.

Shoes

Comfortable yet elegant shoes for dining out or enjoying the nightlife.

Costa del Sol Must-Haves for April

Even though it might be a bit chilly for swimming in the sea, you’re likely to have options to enjoy the indoor pool in your hotel, so bring a variety of swimming suits.

Don’t get fooled by the April sun, it can be pretty strong and you can certainly get sunburned. Bring sunscreen and wear a hat where possible.

If you’re staying in a holiday apartment instead of a hotel, I always recommend bringing a pair of slippers with you or buying some in the city. The local places do not use any carpets and the floors are normally very cold, without any underfloor heating.

Shopping in Marbella

If you find yourself in a situation where you left something important at home, you don’t need to worry.

Marbella is a retail therapy heaven! You can shop in the small local boutiques in the old town, or hop over to the biggest mall just outside of the city – La Cañada Shopping Centre. There is also a big Primark right next to it.

For more luxurious brands and high-end boutiques, you can visit the Puerto Banus district of Marbella.

Final Thoughts

With this guide in hand, you’re all set to pack your bags for Marbella.

Whether you’re soaking up the sun on a beachside café, exploring the charming streets of the old town, or enjoying the vibrant nightlife, you’ll be comfortably stylish and ready for anything April in Marbella has to offer.
