Looking for a great place to stay in the heart of Malaga old town?
Then this gorgeous four-star boutique hotel should be certainly on your radar! I visited Hotel Palacio Solecio in Malaga last winter, and here are a few thoughts about my stay!
This boutique hotel is set within a beautifully and tastefully restored 18th-century palace, offering a unique blend of Andalusian charm and modern elegance.
I especially love the stunning facade that just blends in with the other historic buildings in the old town of Malaga. The hotel has an excellent location, just a stone’s throw away from some of the city’s most known attractions, like the Picasso Museum, the vibrant Atarazanas Market, and the majestic Málaga Cathedral. This makes it an ideal base for those who prefer to explore by walking.
The rooms offer tastefully decorated interiors with sleek, contemporary aesthetics, intricate moldings, and a color palette that reflects the warmth and vibrancy of the Mediterranean. Even though my room was much smaller compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in, the room looked much bigger thanks to the use of mirrors throughout.
My favourite part was the lobby bar with a very cozy wine cellar atmosphere and the main traditional Andalusian courtyard where they served my breakfast. The food was superb and I absolutely loved the setting of the courtyard, with the light peaking in from the top of the building.
If you want to stay somewhere central, and love to walk everywhere, this hotel is a great option to consider. I was very happy with the stay, and even though as I say the room was pretty small, the rest of the hotel facilities made up for it.
Here is a short photo tour and I have included details for the hotel at the end of the post.
